Logging meals while eating out has never been easier with our new Restaurant Logging Feature!

Now, from within your MyFitnessPal app, you can:

  • Quickly, easily log restaurant items
  • View the calorie and nutrition information from menus of 500,000 restaurants nationwide
  • Call up a map of nearby restaurant menus at a glance so you can see which options best fit your calorie and macro goals for the day

Where do I find this feature?

MFP Users in the US can find our new Restaurant Logging feature within our newest iOS update (currently being rolled out, if you do not see it on latest iOS just yet, please give it a week or so to reach all members). Android will be coming in the near future. Here are the instructions to find:

(From your "Home" screen)

  1. Tap "Diary" from the bottom menu bar
  2. Then tap "Add Food" under the appropriate meal slot
  3. Now you should see the Restaurant Logging icon located between the Search Bar and Barcode scanner icons. (It will look like a circle that comes to a point at the bottom)

  1. Tap the "+" icon from the bottom menu bar
  2. Then tap "Food" from the pop-up menu
  3. Next, tap the meal slot you'd like your entry listed under
  4. Now you should see the Restaurant Logging icon located between the Search Bar and Barcode scanner icons. (It will look like a circle that comes to a point at the bottom)



Can I search for specific restaurants that I don't see on the list or that are out of my current area?

  1. Access the Restuarant Logging feature ( click here for instructions) If you don't see your restaurant in the list, you can use the magnifying glass icon to search more precisely.
  2. You can now tap manually type in the name of the restaurant you're looking for in your current location, change to a particular location, or BOTH.
  3. One you have filed in one or both fields, remember to tap the blue Search button to see your results.
  4. Continue here, for instructions on logging foods.

How do I use this to log foods?

  1. Access the Restuarant Logging feature ( click here for instructions), then choose a restaurant to tap.
  2. Browse the menu by swiping or searching via the Search Bar and tap an item you'd like to add.
  3. If the listed Serving Size and Number of Servings are correct, tap the check mark to add to the diary. If either are incorrect, proceed to steps 4 & 5.
  4. Tap Serving Size to open the pop-up menu of choices. Select the appropriate size.
  5. Tap Number of Servings to open the pop-up menu of choices. Scroll to the proper amount of servings or tap Decimal to type it in. Tap the lower checkmark to continue.
  6. Once your serving size and amount is correct, repeat step 3.

How do I look up just the nutritional info of individual items without logging them?

(After selecting an item from a restaurant's menu. Click here for info on finding menu items.)

  1. Tap "More Nutrition Facts to open up a new screen.
  2. From here you can browse all the nutritional facts for that particular item. Adjusting the servings size or number of servings will update the nutritional information accordingly.

Your database doesn't have the menu for the restaurant I was looking for, will you add it?

I found an item that doesn't seem to have correct or missing nutritional info, can I fix this?

  1. If you believe information listing within an item to be incorrect, please tap "This is not accurate" from the top of the screen
  2. Our team will be notified, and you will have an opportunity to help us find a better choice by tapping "Choose alternative" form the pop-up window.
