Can I Choose What Data Comes To Me?

We send you three different files enclosed within your zip file.

  • Meal Level Nutrition Details - Calories, Macro And Micronutrients of logged foods summarized at the meal level
  • Progress History - Logged measurement entries such as weight, neck, waist and hip measurements.

  • Exercise History - Individual workouts, along with steps counts and all daily calorie burns (if you are using a tracker)

What Do I Do With The Email and Zip File You Sent Me?

You’ll find an email from MyFitnessPal that looks like this in your inbox:

Your information will arrive as a set of CSV files inside of a Zip file that you can download by clicking the "Download Files" button in the email. We recommend downloading the files on a computer instead of a mobile device.

Once you've downloaded the Zip File:
To decompress (unzip) a file or folder on a Mac, double-click it. To open a zipped file on a PC, drag the .zip attachment to the desktop.

Once the
file is on the desktop, you can double- or right-click to open it. Double-click the zipped file to see its contents.
You’ll see three different .CSV files:

  • Your Progress

  • Your Exercise

  • Your Nutrition

What Is A .CSV File?
A CSV is a Comma Separated Values file, which allows data to be saved in a table structured format. CSVs look like a garden-variety spreadsheet but with a .csv extension (Traditionally they take the form of a text file containing information separated by commas, hence the name).

Where Can I
Use .CSV Files?
A CSV file can be opened in any program; however, it can look messy at times. For most users, a CSV file is best viewed with a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel, Numbers by Apple or Google Docs.
