Why am I being required to change my password?
When MyFitnessPal on March 29, 2018, we recommended that all users with an account on the MyFitnessPal platform immediately change their password on the site, and on any other sites where they may have used the same credentials. At that time we indicated that we would be enforcing a password change in the future.
What if I already changed my password?
If you received an email or an in-app notification from us on or after August 27, 2018, our systems indicate you have not changed your MyFitnessPal password since March 29. We are now requiring that any passwords unchanged since the breach be updated.
How can I be sure this email is from MyFitnessPal?

Additionally, in the email we sent to users regarding the upcoming forced reset, the URLs for changing your password are included in full, rather than as hyperlinks. This is considered a best practice to help assure users a message is not a phishing attempt when communicating links so users can be sure the pages they are being directed to are legitimate pages on the myfitnesspal.com domain
How do I change my password before I’m forced to?
You can change your password by logging in to https://www.myfitnesspal.com in any web browser. Once you’ve logged in, click the “My Home” tab, then “Settings,” then “Change Password.”
If you’ve forgotten your password or if your previous password has been invalidated as a result of the forced reset, you can request a password reset email by clicking the “Forgot password or username” link on the sign-in screen of our apps, or by visiting https://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/forgot_password in a web browser.
What if I haven't changed my password?
If you have not changed your password since March 29, 2018, you will be forced to change it during September 2018. You may find yourself suddenly logged out of the app and that your old password is no longer valid. Follow the steps above to reset your password to regain access to your account with a new password. If you wish to avoid this disruption in your access to and use of the app, we highly recommend changing your password immediately.
Can you tell me my current password?
No - none of our passwords are human readable. This is by design. It’s done to secure your password for your privacy and protection.
What should I change my password to?
Your new password should be something unique that you don’t use on any other site or app.
