If I link my MyFitnessPal and Facebook accounts, what information will be visible on Facebook?

Once you have linked your MyFitnessPal and Facebook accounts, you may opt to have some activities on MyFitnessPal generate a Facebook post. In order for an activity to generate a post on Facebook, it must also be set to create a status update on your MyFitnessPal News Feed. In addition, your Diary must be public in order for food and exercise related updates to post to Facebook.

Once the following items are set to generate News Feed Updates, they may be set to generate Facebook posts:

Posting a Status Update
Recording a weight loss (weight change and total weight lost are posted, not current weight
Logging a cardio exercise
Creating a blog post
Completing your diary for the day

To adjust your Facebook post settings:

On the Web

  • Log in to the site at www.myfitnesspal.com. Mobile app users should log in using the same username and password they use in the app.
  • Once you've logged in click "My Home" then "Settings" then "Facebook/Twitter sharing settings." Be sure to save any changes you make.

In our Android, iPad and iPhone apps

  • In the Menu (or "More" page) tap "Settings" then "Sharing & Privacy" then "Facebook Settings" then "Autopost MyFitnessPal Updates to Facebook." The options will appear when you activate the settings.
