PTK or Corneal transplant? barbarehg1233 — Jan 31, 2016 09:30PM PST
My son was diagnosed with keratoconus when he is 17, he has a double vision too. I heard that this disease is hereditary, but none of them in our family has a vision problem. I wonder whether this may lead to losing his eyesight. He is very much afraid about his future. His ophthalmologist in See by Intravision, Oakville had suggested him to have a corneal transplant surgery. Is it complicated? While browsing, I read about a specialised procedure called PTK for keratoconus. Does anyone hear about it? What is this procedure about? Which is better? PTK or corneal transplantation? Please share your experience.
