Glitches with calorie goal, custom goals, and weight goal karalee88 — Aug 13, 2016 10:45PM PDT
I keep being prompted to change my goal weight every time I input a weight. The prompt says the ideal weight range for someone my height, and then asks if I want to change my goal weight. But my goal weight is within the listed range. I've tried to get this message to go away by changing my goal weight a tiny bit, but it keeps coming back.
When I do change the goal weight, all my custom goals are reset and my calorie goal is at 1200 calories. This is totally wrong; I'm on a doctor-supervised diet and my nutrition goals have been put in custom. I've reset my nutrition goals several times by hand, which is super annoying. But then today, it happened again and now my custom goals aren't showing up at all. It still says 1200 calories and all the macros are wrong.
How do I fix this, please?

Hey thanks for posting. Sorry for any trouble with your weight day to day weight entries recalculating your goal weight. Would you please let us know whether you are using the website or the mobile app, and provide the exact steps that you are taking when logging your new weight entries? If you are using the app, please also let us know which type of device that you are using i.e. Apple or Android, which version of it’s operating system it is running, and which version of MyFitnessPal is currently installed.

Thanks for responding. I'm using both the website and the mobile app. The sequence is that I input my weight (I usually use the app), and then I get a prompt saying basically "the weight range for you is ###-###, would you like to select a new goal weight?" (don't have a screencap). Then I pick a slightly different weight and everything resets. :(
If I don't pick something, I get the message every time. Plus I kind of feel scolded, which might be irrational but it bugs me.
I'm using an iPhone, version 8.4.1 (I know, I'm overdue for an update because I'm getting an error on install). I think it has only happened on the mobile app.

Thanks for following up with us. So far we are unable to reproduce the behavior on our end. It sounds like the program may be having an issue with your projected BMI associated with your goal weight. We realize that you mentioned that the weight that you are trying to enter is within the range that it is giving you. The next step would be to get the actual number that you are wanting to input when receiving the message, so that we may try to reproduce the behavior on our end. If you feel comfortable posting that information here, in the public forum, you may do so, however, if you would prefer to provide it privately, please click here to reach us via email and in the subject please put “Attention Logan” and follow up with me here and let me know that it has been sent.
