how do I get back the easy entry of weight on the Add Weight screen android marklund2 — Sep 05, 2016 04:06PM PDT

I am using the Android app. To enter my daily weight, I open the MyFitnessPal App, tap the + button on the lower right, tap the Weight button on the lower left and arrive at the Add Weight screen. There used to be a convenient sideways scrolling number line that I could move to indicate my current weight and then accept. Very convenient to use. Now the sideways scrolling number line is replaced by an ad for a scale. Now I must enter my weight by tapping the small number on the upper right which brings up a keypad, enter weight, enter and tap the check mark. Not so easy. I have searched through the App settings and help at this site to no avail. How do I change back to the convenient method? Thanks.

We are truly sorry to hear you are disappointed in the change of removing the weight slider and returning to manually inputting your weight. We originally introduced the weight Slider as a new feature a few months ago. We are glad to hear you liked it. Unfortunately, that was not the case for everyone. Shortly after the launch, we did receive an overwhelming amount of complaints regarding the feature.

For some, they found it too cumbersome, others claimed it was resulting in inaccurate weight entries, and then there were some devices we found were not fully compatible. We did our best to try to make it work for everyone, but in the end we found the best option was to return to the previous way we knew worked for all.

We definitely appreciate your feedback, thank you for sharing. We will make sure it is shared with the appropriate teams. We will also continue to look for improvements we hope will make your MyFitnessPal experience even more enjoyable.

In the meantime, thank you so much for using the program. Please let us know if you have any additional feedback, problems or questions. We wish you all the success in reaching and maintaining all of your health and fitness goals.

All the best,
MyFitnessPal Staff

Thanks Maximiliano for your good explanation.

This is a feature request: make using the slider an option. I preferred it to the slower, harder to read numeric entry!
