Trying to Gain Weight, but rewarded for losing it? jakeekker — Oct 03, 2016 02:15PM PDT

I've been put on a 3000 calorie diet by my physician and use this app to help. My weight loss is associated with a medical condition and my appetite has been lost. I have to force-feed myself to maintain a healthy weight. To accomplish this, I have included my family (also using the app) to be my cheer team. Unfortunately, as we all learn, weight is anything but constant, and though the app does a great job helping you figure out calories for goals and the dashboard shows your progress, on days I lose weight, my feed gets a "Jacob has lost ___lbs!" like it's a great thing. Could the app be programmed to reverse this to "Jacob has gained ___lbs!", even if only for those who've set a gain goal rather and a weight loss goal?

We are definitely looking into making improvements to our program to be more supportive and offer positive reinforcement for our members who have chosen to gain weight using MyFitnessPal. Hopefully, these features will be available soon.

In the meantime, thanks so much for using the program. Please let us know if you have any additional feedback, problems or questions.

Warm Regards,
MyFitnessPal Staff
