Sideways appearing profile picture? debcarretp — Dec 27, 2016 04:51PM PST

Whenever I try to upload a photo, although it is saved to my local computer in the upright orientation, it appears sideways when I upload it to MFP. I've tried several times always with the same result. This has happened with all different photos. If it matters, the original pictures were taken using an iPhone 5 or 6.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are sorry to hear your photo is not displaying correctly. It’s possible the image may have auto-rotated.

To get this corrected, you may want to try adding the image from your computer. Here is a link on how to rotate the image (depending on your computer) then you can save the image and re-upload it to our site, at (just use the same username and password as the app).

If you are working only with an iPad, the Camera Roll app has an “edit” button when you are viewing a single photo, and there should be a “rotate” icon there. We would recommend trying to rotate the photo in the camera roll then updating your profile.

We hope this helps, but if you are still having a problem, please let us know. We wish you all the success in reaching and maintaining all of your diet and fitness goals.

Warm Regards,
MyFitnessPal Staff
