How can we report/fix serving size options that are incorrect? DaleTrexel — Jan 01, 2017 08:34AM PST
More than once I've encountered a food item where the serving size I want to use ends up being totally incorrect. For example, "Oceanspray - 100% Cranberry Juice (No Sugar Added)" (http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/edit/408649739) has two serving sizes that LOOK different up front, but appear to be exactly the same calorie calculation in the end: "1 fl oz (240mL) 1 cup" and "8 fl oz (240mL) 1 cup".* The one that looks like it should be for 1 fl oz is the same as 8. This is a lot handier if you're drinking something other than a cup of juice, because otherwise you have to calculate in 1/8 fractions.
You can flag a food item as having the wrong nutrient data, but NOT that it has incorrect serving sizes. You can't propose/edit serving sizes. So what do we do? I'd like to be helpful and improve the database but there ought to be tools other than reporting food items individually on a message board.
* Now that I look at the food item on the web, I'm not seeing alternate serving sizes. This may be because I tried to edit it, in hopes that I'd find a way to change serving sizes. It seems to have been reset to basic 1 C as serving size now.

Hey thanks for posting. Sorry for the trouble with the number of servings not being reflected properly. We are currently aware of an issue with this when users are scanning the barcode for an item when the Multi add option is on. We will do what we can to get this straightened out as soon as possible. Please let us know if you are having the issue when not using the barcode scanner or when using it with the multi add option off. If so, please also tell us which model device that you are using, what version of it’s operating system it is running, and which version of the MyFitnessPal app is currently installed.
