Delete foods I know longer need sunriselady5 — Jan 08, 2017 06:42AM PST

Are there updates to the ability to delete foods from database??
I have a food one time I dont want to keep it on ly list forever.
If not, can I delete the whole thing and start over?
I understand I can start a new account but would prefer not to do that

Thanks for asking. The Frequent and Recent lists are designed to automatically add to and delete based on frequency of use. However, since the lists can hold several items, this may take time before items start to automatically drop off the lists based on a lack of use.

Currently, you can only manually delete items from the frequent list, and this can only be done in our iPhone and iPad apps, or online, at (sign in with the same username and password as the app). Though, at times, when you delete them from the website, they may also delete from the app, this may not always be the case. Sometimes, the syncing between the two does not pick up the item has been deleted, and therefore they remain on the app, even though they’ve been deleted on the website.

The recent list can not be manually deleted from. We understand this can be a bit frustrating for our members who would like more control over their lists, and we are definitely looking into finding ways to add more as a future possibility.

Warm Regards,

So once you sign in how do you delete the food item online. You never finished the answer.

Hi khaaheim,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. By “main food list” do you mean you are trying to delete from your MyFitnessPal Diary, Recent List, Frequent List, My Meals, My Foods, or My Recipes?

We look forward to hearing back.
