New items I enter into diary are not showing up in "Recent" list anymore. jim3997 — Jan 11, 2017 07:09PM PST
Hi. I've been using the android app for about 3 years. Over the past few weeks, I have added several new items in my diary, and eat them regularly. However, the last 8 items or so have never shown up in my RECENT list. Each time I want to enter one of them into my diary again I have to either search it from the database or go find the last time I used it in the diary and copy it from that meal to the current one. Could it be something is wrong and the oldest items aren't being deleted from my RECENT list so new ones aren't being added? I have tried all manners of sorting and listing options and they just aren't there. Any ideas?

Thanks for posting and sorry for any trouble. Would you please give us a few examples of items that you’ve logged in your Diary recently that are not showing in the Recent list to help us investigate further?

Hi, and thank you for your reply. One example is "Beanfields Family Owned Bean & Rice Chips, Barbeque" entered yesterday, Jan 11, 2017. This item doesn't show up in RECENT foods in the Android App. They do, however, show up on the website RECENT list. I'll verify a few more later when I have more time and send them to you. Do you think it might help if I clear data on the app, since these items do show up on the website? If I do that, would the RECENT items on the website sync with the app, or would I be starting from scratch in the app?

Hi, this is an update to my reply from this morning. I tried something that fixed the item mentioned. Since the item mentioned ("Beanfields Family Owned Bean & Rice Chips, Barbeque") showed up on the website RECENT list, I went to the website and entered that item into a meal from the RECENT list. Then I opened the app and selected to add an item to the same meal, and the item now showed up in the RECENT list in the app, too. So now I know how to fix an item if this happens to future items! Still would like to know, though, if clearing the app data would sync all the RECENT items from the website or if the RECENT list on the app would just start out blank. If it syncs from the website, that may be a way I can clean things up and fix the other items this occurred to. Thank you, Jim Lloyd.

Thanks for following up with us and sharing the additional information. If you force quit the MyFitnessPal app and clear it’s data via your android’s Settings app, it will still be populated, syncing from the website when you reopen the app.

I tried killing the app and clearing the data like you said, and now everything seems to be working correctly. Thank you for your help! Jim Lloyd.
