Fitbit steps overestimated...but only for 24 hours?? emmafrost1441 — Jan 18, 2017 02:45AM PST
Everyday, myfitnesspal grossly overestimates the calories burned from my daily steps. On average, I should be burning 500 calories for 10,000 steps. However, myfinesspal tends to tell me crazy things: 300 calories burned for 90 steps. However, I just ignore this for the current day because it always fixes itself the next day. For example, on Monday my calories burnt will be inaccurate but on Tuesday the calories burnt for Monday will be accurate and now Tuesday calories are inaccurate. So it all seems to adjust itself by the next day and I have learned to live with that. But now, some of the data is NOT correcting itself. I can look back to 3 days ago and see that although I did my normal 10,000 steps I somehow burned close to 1000 calories. Some days are updating accurately and some days aren't. How do I fix this? Also, how do I get myfitnesspal to accurately estimate calories burned from the beginning instead of waiting till the next day?

Hey thanks for posting your question. Please check your timezone settings in both accounts. We are currently seeing that one is set to Europe/London, while the other is reporting as US/Eastern. Please make sure that they are matching and correct for your current location, track a few hundred new steps, and let us know if it still seems high after they sync up again.
