Not Sure If I Should Log Exercise SmilinLadybug — Jan 21, 2017 11:20AM PST

While wearing my Fitbit....do I still log my exercise for the day into MFP..or do I count that exercise as extra steps taken?

Hi SmilinLadybug,

Thank you for taking the time to post your question.

We recommend logging all exercise on MyFitnessPal only with the exception of walking/jogging/running.

The Fitbit is designed to best capture your movement through space, things like walking/jogging/running can be easily captured by the Fitbit device.

However, items like golfing, Spinning®, or rock climbing are best logged on MyFitnessPal.

When you log any exercise on MyFitnessPal, you will choose a start time and a duration. We then send that data to Fitbit who removes that time period from their data and replaces it with ours.

You can read more on the topic here: http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/1084231

Hope this helps.

Best,
