Should a set my goal as my BMR in myfitnesspal when connected to Garmin Connect messner66 — May 10, 2018 12:00PM PDT

I had set myfitnespal to zero training and sedentary and my goal was set to 1900 and then it ads the calorie burn from my Garmin fenix 5x watch. But it seems wrong because my BMR is about 1537 and then myfitnespal ads some calories? to 1900 and then Garmin ads the active calorie burn and it seems to be to high. Isnt it more correct to alter the goal in the myfitnespal settings to my BMR 1537 and then Garmin ads the active calorie burns to get more accurate calorie burned readings. My stats are 49 year, 175cm, 68kg, male

Hey thanks for posting your question. We are calculating your BMR as 1528 and then multiplying it by 1.25, to account your day to day movement based on your selected activity level.

The calorie adjustment in your Diary compares your TDEE from Garmin with that MyFitnessPal calculation, which in this case is 1,910. When the Garmin amount is higher, you will receive the difference in the form of an adjustment.
