Sync from Garmin Connect - incorrect data FatGramscam — Jun 11, 2018 07:11AM PDT

Hi,

I use Garmin Connect to log my runs. When the data syncs to MFP, the speed and pace are wrong. MFP shows a speed of 5.2mph and a pace of 11.5 min/mile in my news feed. It shows this speed/pace for every run regardless of my actual speed/pace logged in Garmin Connect. The run duration and calories are correctly displayed for each run.

Thanks

Hi there,

Our apologies for any confusion or differences in how an item is represented within one of our partner apps verses our program. Since our partners use a different database for exercise and food items than we do, when these items transfer between programs, they may not always be exact.

When a single exercise transfers from a partner to MyFitnessPal it will find the closest match in our system and list that exercise as being performed. Though the name of the exercise may be different, the duration and calories burned should be the same on both programs. If not, please do let us know.

Also please note that if you are using an all day activity tracker, only a total of calories burned will transfer from the partner to MyFitnesspal, not individual exercise. You will then see any difference in activity via the adjustment line total. You can click on the “i” next to the adjustment online or tap on the adjustment in an app to understand this adjustment.

If you are using a partner that will transfer your food from MyFitnessPal to your partner, please note this will only show as a total of calories consumed on the partner side, individual items will not be listed.

Also note only future information will transfer between programs after the connection has been made, past information will not sync.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions, or if you feel information is not correctly transferring and you would like us to further investigate. In the meantime, thank you so much for using the program. We wish you all the success in reaching and maintaining all of your health and fitness goals.

All the best,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Thanks for the timely response.

I do not use an all day activity tracker. Only a Garmin Forerunner during my runs.

The calories and duration transfer correctly. The problem is the pace.

Today my pace was 10.5 min/mile. MFP says 11.5 min/mile. Though my actual pace isn't going to win any land speed records, it is significantly different than 11.5 min/mile.

So I took a look at the exercises in your database. It looks like it has 10 min/mile and then jumps to 11.5 min/mile. If I create a 10.5 min/mile will MFP choose this when I sync my run?

Thanks again.

Hi Bruce,

It appears I can't add additional paces to the database. Can you and your team add a few more runs to the database? Specifically 9.5, 10.5 and 11 min/mile? The finer resolution will help out us slow pokes.

Thanks!
