Android is starting, optimizing app jturi17 — Aug 05, 2018 01:03PM PDT

I have an LG G4 working fine with all apps even if I install the MyFitnessPal. Only if I log in I'm getting the "Android is starting, Optimising app 1 of 1" that lasts for about 10 minutes after each restart or replace of the battery. I had to uninstall it to fix the issue. Is there a solution for this? If not I have to look for another fitness tracking app since MyFitnessPal renders my phone unusable.

Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us. We are currently investigating an issue where some users are receiving an “optimizing app 1 of 1” message when turning on their Android device and are currently working on a resolution. We hope to have a fix in place as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience while we work on a resolution.

All the best,
Bruce

Hello,

I'm having the same issue since the update done in May 2018. Every update since then didn't solve the issue.

Looks like the users with Android 6 (like me) are experiencing this issue.

I've seen in a thread that MFP developing team were not able to reproduce this issue (https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/questions/17340277-update-broke-the-app ).

As I was saying, I've received the same answer (and I mean exactly the same words - via e-mail) but nothing was done to solve for months, even though there were released several updates.

Still hoping that this issue will be fixed.

Best regards,
Dan
