Apple Health and My Fitness Pal Not Syncing frearrrb17 — May 29, 2019 11:43AM PDT

I have tried everything on the forum, random websites, and even went to the Apple Store with no avail.

My Apple Health has all categories turned on for syncing and myfitnesspal has indicated that the watch and my iphone are being used to track steps, but I still am not seeing any excercises. I save all workouts as other or ellipitcal (suggested from forums), I have unconnected then reconnected them several times, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing works.

Can someone please help.

Our apologies for any problems you are having with data transferring to HealthKit. Data should transfer almost immediately. Would you mind double checking the options by going into your HealthKit app and Tapping: <HEALTH DATA> <NUTRITION> Then select a category to view info, such as Dietary Calories.

Please also note, once you the information is flowing, only certain items will transfer between the two programs.

Food – MyFitnessPal will update Meal Summaries (calories and nutrients, we currently do not track caffeine) to HealthKit. (Please note that because the MyFitnessPal app does not currently track the time at which foods are logged, we add all calorie summaries to 12am (the start of the calendar day) when calories are transferred to HealthKit.) Food will not add from HealthKit to MyFitnessPal.

Exercises – Exercises that are logged in HealthKit by other apps will transfer to and adjust your calorie goal in MyFitnessPal. If you also have the same partner in MyFitnessPal it will note you’ve already been credited and not duplicate. Exercises will not transfer from MyFitnessPal to HealthKit.

Weight – MyFitnessPal and HealthKit will update weight in both directions

You are always in control of which types of data are shared between MyFitnessPal and HealthKit. For information about adjusting these settings, please see this article (

Apple’s HealthKit does not distinguish between multiple accounts used in the same app on the same device. This is a limitation of HealthKit for which there is currently no solution. If you share the MyFitnessPal app on your iOS device with others by logging in and out of multiple accounts, we do not recommend linking MyFitnessPal with HealthKit at this time. If you do, data from one MyFitnessPal account may overwrite existing data in HealthKit, and vice versa, resulting in mingled data in your individual MyFitnessPal accounts.

If you run into any issues, we would also recommend checking: for any possible bugs.

We hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other problems or questions. We wish you all the success in reaching and maintaining all of your diet and fitness goals.

All the best,
MyFitnessPal Staff
