deleting items completely from food choice list gdw14 — Jun 10, 2019 08:43AM PDT
I have food choices which I no longer eat on all my meal lists. How do I delete them? There once was way, but that way appears to be gone. My lists have become so long that I can't easily find the item I want so I search again, and end up with duplicates (e.g. two identical foods, say eggs, from different distributor with different names) end up on my list as separate items. Other foods which I've eaten only once but will never eat again are on the choice list. Consequently, my food choice became so long that it takes too long to find the item I'm eating now. I WANT TO DELETE THESE ANNOYING ITEMS!

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. MyFitnessPal has been designed to add to and remove foods from your Recent list automatically, therefore there is currently not a way to delete from the Recent list. We will definitely consider adding more controls to the list options for a future update.
Food items can be removed from the Frequent list using our website, and our iOS apps. Currently, frequently used food items cannot be deleted using our other mobile apps. We will consider adding this feature in a future update.
(Please note that items deleted from the Frequent list on iOS will remain on your list when viewed on the website or in other mobile apps. We will add syncing of items deleted in the iOS app to an upcoming release.)
To delete items in the iOS app, swipe an item from right to left in the “Frequent” app, then tap the red “Delete” button when it appears.
To delete items on the web, log in to our website at https://www.myfitnesspal.com/. Mobile app users should log in using the same username and password they use in the app.
Once you’ve logged in, click the “Food” tab, then click “Add Food” below the meal whose list you’d like to edit, then click the “Frequent” tab. Check the box next to the items you’d like to remove, then click the “Delete from list” button at the bottom of the page.
Please note that items removed in this way are “blacklisted” from appearing on the list again. In other words, this is not a temporary deletion, but a permanent ban on that foods return to your “Frequent” list. Users who have made a radical change in their eating habits will use this to remove the junk food from their lists, for example.
If you would like to allow some or all of the items to return to your Frequent list, click the “View Deleted Items” button at the bottom of the list. Place a check next to any items in the list and then “restore” them to the pool of foods permitted to accumulate in your Most Used list.
Items removed from the Most Used list on the website may also disappear from Frequent list in the app the next time the app syncs.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback.
