New Apple Watch not available for tracking steps gaboyla — Jul 02, 2019 09:16AM PDT

I just got a new apple watch and it's not an option for tracking steps. My old watch used to push the steps over but the new one does not. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Our apologies if you are having any issues with your Apple Watch exercises syncing to MyFitnessPal. As of app version 19.3.0, all of your exercises should sync to MyFitnessPal, so can you first double check your App Version number by tapping More>Help>About Us and make sure you are on version 19.3.0 or higher?

If you are on version 19.3.0 or higher, but exercises are still not syncing over to MyFitnessPal, what you will want to do is reinstall the MyFitnessPal app and then relink HealthKit and your Apple Watch to MyFitnessPal.

Once the app is reinstalled, in MyFitnessPal tap More>Steps>Apple Watch and you should be taken to a page to turn some Categories On. Turn them on and then tap More>Settings>Sharing & Privacy>HealthKit Sharing and you’ll be taken to another page to turn On more Categories.

This will relink your Apple Watch and HealthKit to MyFitnessPal and any new exercises should now sync. If you have any issues, please make sure that the exercise from your watch has synced to HealthKit properly, and then open up MyFitnessPal and see if the exercise appears once the app refreshes.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback.

Warm Regards,
Logan
