Goal setting vbutler1950 — Oct 16, 2015 08:17AM PDT

i want to lose 2 lbs per week but the program calculates .7 lbs. It also shows an end date but I never entered an end date. I want to lose 2 lbs per week until I reach my goal but it doesn't give me a way to give my goal date.

Hi,

Thank you for taking the time to post in the MyFitnessPal support center.

We have designed a program to help with healthy and sustainable weight loss. We do not recommend that women consume fewer than 1200 calories per day, or men fewer than 1500 calories per day. Eating too little can produce negative health effects.

Since we have this limitation, depending on your profile information, your calculations may not be able to calculate your original desired weekly weight loss. However, these are calculations, and weight loss varies for each individual. We have had members report more of a weight loss than the calculations originally estimated. We recommend staying within your daily recommendations, and see what happens.

If you ever feel you are having a problem with your weight goals, we recommend contacting your doctor or nutritionist.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Blake
