Advice pop-ups when I add food, how do I turn them off? rkentspeth — Oct 23, 2015 01:58PM PDT
I dislike the little pieces of advice that pop up when I add some foods. Something like, "This food is high in protein!" Yes, I know that, it's why I ate it.
How can I turn this off? Or am I doomed to endure them?

Thank you for taking the time to post in the MyFitnessPal support center. You should be able to turn these off by going to settings > diary settings > food insights.
Hope this helps.

I couldn't find Food Insights in Diary Settings. Is it a Premium feature? (In Food And Diary Settings I found: Nutrients Tracked, Default Add Food View, Meal Names, and Diary Sharing.)

Thank you for getting back to me. It is not a premium feature, can you please let me know what platform you’re accessing the program from?

I'm not so tech savvy! I'm on a laptop running Windows 10, on a Google Chrome browser. Was that the info you need?

Sorry for any confusion, the setting for the insights is only available in the Diary Settings in our Mobile App. Just for our confirmation, you were seeing the food Insights on the website? We have logged into the account on a mobile device and turned off the setting for you so you should not continue seeing the Insights moving forward. Please follow up with us if you are.

Wow, I am having the same problem but with outside ads for dieting. Some of the even open up when I hit the x button. It is impossible for me to add food to the diary without those annoying ads. I have given up keeping a diary on this site. I am doing it on my own. I lost 30 pounds on this site before and was going to try losing another 30 but this is impossible.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. We are sorry to hear you are seeing ad content cover spaces on the screen, preventing use of our service.
We actually don’t use any ad service that displays pop-up or full page ads. We would suggest scanning your computer for any spyware or adware that may be attached to your internet browser. This tends to be the reason our members report disruptive ads while using MyFitnessPal
