Can you set goals on specific food groups? I would like to set certain goals on servings of vegetables, fruits, etc?

I would really like this as well. The NHS active lifestyle program provides customised plans which indicate how many portions of each food group you are allowed as well as how many calories per food group you are allowed.

Knowing how much weight is associated to each food group isn't particularly helpful :-)

Having MyFitnessPal report on how many servings of fruits, vegetables, meats, etc. I have & should consume (according to Food Pyramid guidelines) would be very helpful & much-appreciated.

I would like to see food group servings as well. I am considering switching back to the USDA's Super Tracker from MyFitnessPal because it has that functionality.

I would love to see food groups as something that is tracked (Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Dairy and Proteins) Including amounts recommended daily for your specific calorie plan, and ideas for what counts as "a serving of Grain" or "a serving of fruit". The USDA does this on their SuperTracker but they don't have anywhere CLOSE to the database of foods YOU have, making theirs very UN-user friendly. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your app and will continue using it (but unfortunately, I have to transfer - by hand - three days of food diary entries to the UDSA's program for a project in college... Thanks for your great product!

I would like this even if I have to enter the food groups separately. Otherwise I'll wind up tracking this in a separate app.

This is Bruce from our Premium Support Center. Thanks for taking the time to contact us.

We're definitely considering adding native support for tracking fruits and vegetables separately. In the meantime, many users use the Notes area to record these additional items. Instructions for adding notes are here: http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/articles/303408-notes-

As an alternative, you can create a new Meal category called "Fruits & Vegetables". Information on changing or adding meal names is here: http://j.mp/ZqR7Oh

I would love it if the app was able use the diary information to show how many "portions" of the recommended 7 portions of fruit and vegetables we should consume daily. It would take a long time to work out manually. An apple, pear or orange is easy, but how much broccoli, mushroom or cherry tomatoes make a "portion".
Other than that I'm really enjoying using this app, thank you.
