Failed to Connect with Facebook - Google Nexus 6P vanhoichotz — Dec 22, 2015 06:27AM PST

I have a MFP account and it used to be connected to Facebook while I logged in. On my old Samsung Galaxy S5 I also authenticated this way using the app. Now I have a Google Nexus 6P and authentication failed "failed to connect Facebook". I disconnected the Facebook account online and could log in the app using my normal credentials. However, I'd love to use my Facebook account, but it will only work in the web, but not in the app. What's wrong?

Are you having any trouble logging into to other apps utilizing your facebook account on your 6p or is it just MyFitnessPal giving you issues?

It is only the MyFitnessPal app. It works for various other apps.

Thanks for getting back in touch with us.

We can try to reset things to see if this helps by disabling login with Facebook via our website, then creating a username and password, then reconnecting Facebook (via web) to see if the issue persists.

Here are the steps:

1 – Log in to our full website at using Facebook, then go to My Home > Settings > Facebook/Twitter sharing settings and click “Disconnect” under the Facebook section.

2 – This will prompt you to create a password for your MyFitnessPal username

3 – Once that’s done, click “Connect” and re-enter your Facebook credentials.

4 – Now you can log in with your Facebook credentials where prompted.

I, too, cannot log in via FB on my MFP app. I have no problem logging in via FB on the MFP website but I always get an error on the app.
