Logging in to app not working suzybeer — Jan 04, 2016 09:47AM PST

Haven't been on for a while yet am able to connect on a PC outside of the app I use for android and used to be able to connect using "log in with Facebook" and now I cannot - says "Failed to connect Facebook. Please check your connection and try again"

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling and then yesterday got a new phone and it is still not working via mobile or to my Samsung tablet (unable to connect via FB error)

Help?

Please include:
-Your username
-How you are using the program (iPhone, web, etc)
-What operating system is on that device
-What version of MyFitnessPal you are using
-A screen shot of the error you are seeing
-As well as any specific information you can offer on the issue

Hello,

Thanks for getting back in touch with us and thank you for this screen shot. This is very odd, as we have not seen any other reports of this issue.

We can try to reset things to see if this helps by disabling login with Facebook via our website, then creating a username and password, then reconnecting Facebook (via web) to see if the issue persists.

Here are the steps:

1 – Log in to our full website at http://www.myfitnesspal.com using Facebook, then go to My Home > Settings > Facebook/Twitter sharing settings and click “Disconnect” under the Facebook section.

2 – This will prompt you to create a password for your MyFitnessPal username

3 – Once that’s done, click “Connect” and re-enter your Facebook credentials.

4 – Now you can log in with your Facebook credentials where prompted.

I'm having the same issue with my phone, and nothing I've tried has worked. I still can't connect to Fitness pal through Facebook on my phone, and when I tried to reset it, it tells me there's already an account with that email address. I used this app all the time in the past and wanted to again, but I simply don't know what the problem is.

We apologize for any issue, can you let us know how you are accessing the program (iPhone6, Android, web, etc.) as well as the exact steps you are taking and at which step you are receiving the error?

I have the same problem. I am using Android Galaxy S3

I am a new MyFitnessPal user. I signed in through your website via facebook

Then, I when to my android and tried to login via facebook.
- I got asked for email and facebook password
- then I got message to confirm access to facebook
- then I got the "fail to connect facebook" error message

I am however able to log in through your website using facebook
