Myfitnesspal calories burned vs BRM hansvanderdrift — Jan 17, 2016 07:56PM PST

Hi

I am trying to understand what the relationship is between BMR and "Myfitnesspal Calories Burned" is.

My BMR as calculated on the MFP site is:

Your estimated BMR is: 1,922 calories/day*

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/tools/bmr-calculator

but when I press the exercise tab and then the small i button (I use a fitness tracker) there is a line that states:

Myfitnesspal Calories Burned: 2402

Should that not be 1,922? I have all my exercise goals set to 0

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to post in the MyFitnessPal support center. The MyFitnessPal Calories Burned, is your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) which uses your BMR, but also your activity level. BMR is your calories that are burned while at rest, when activity level is taken into consideration it becomes your TDEE.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Blake
