Exceeding max length of 5KB

Synced exercises from Google Fit are not correct schindlershadow — Dec 29, 2016 04:55PM PST

I understand myfitnesspal calculates calories differently, but it does not seem to using the correct predefined profile for the calculation.

Example, in Google Fit:
Afternoon biking
36 min biking
36m 36s
3.3 miles
235 calories
Average speed 5.46 mph
max speed 13.7 mph

But myfitnesspal made 2 entries with incorrect speeds causing an insane amount of calories burned:
Cardiovascular Minutes Calories Burned
Bicycling, 19-23 kph, moderate (cycling, biking, bike riding) 2 25
Bicycling, 19-23 kph, moderate (cycling, biking, bike riding) 33 423

why is it using 19-23 kph when my average speed was 5.64 mph (9 kph). Is it due the max being 13.7 mph (22 kph)?

Why would you use the max if I was only moving at that speed for a short amount of time (15 sec)?

If I make any changes to try and fix the data it will revert on next sync.

This is not the only example, I have many more with similar data.

Our apologies for any confusion or differences in how an item is represented within one of our partner apps verses our program. Since our partners use a different database for exercise and food items than we do, when these items transfer between programs, they may not always be exact.

When a single exercise transfers from a partner to MyFitnessPal it will find the closest match in our system with the correct calorie burn and list that exercise as being performed. Though the name of the exercise may be different, the duration and calories burned should be the same on both programs. In MyFitnessPal the pace shown is part of the entry’s name and may not match your tracked pace.

If the calorie burns are not matching for the exercises, please click here to reach us via email and provide a screenshot showing the details in Google Fit.

Warm Regards,
MyFitnessPal Staff
