Fitbit Steps not syncing winder04 — Mar 10, 2017 11:52AM PST

Hello, my fitbit steps are not syncing info myfitnesspal. I have tried disconnecting them (on both fitbit and myfitnesspal), waiting, and then reconnecting them again. My steps have not synced for several days now. I have no other apps connected to myfitness pal that it could be trying to pull from instead. Also, when I log on to fitbit my calorie information is pulling in from my fitnesspal so I know they are talking to each other. Is there anything else I am missing? My coworker is also experiencing this same issue, so is it just a site issue maybe?

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, we apologize for any confusion but you are going to want to select Fitbit as your step source.

To do so please visit the Steps section of your app or on the website here: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/apps/step_trackers

Thanks!

Hello, when I look under my apps and step trackers under Fit Bit tracker it says "Installed" where the others all say "Get". Is there something else I need to do to assign this as my step tracker? I disconnected and revoked the permission on my fitbit site earlier today and after about an hour reconnected them and it still isn't sycning.

winder04,

Thanks for getting back in touch with us.

Shoot! After looking into the status of your account, it appears you are affected by a bug we are looking into with not being able to select Fitbit as your step source.

We are very sorry for this and hope to have this resolved soon.

Hi I seem to have a very similar issue to what Winder04 has decribed. I recently lost the step synch and have since been unable to get it back even after following all the trouble shooting steps. Please help!

gregjdoiron,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

It looks like it just took a bit to start syncing after reconnection. All looks to be in working order on our end.

I have the same issue - fitbit and myfitnesspal appear to be connected like winder04's, but on the steps page it says 'installed' instead of 'get'.

Same issue here! Mine quick working about a week ago. I have disconnected and reconnected the app, made sure all settings were installed and checked and my steps are not importing at all. Could you please look into my account to determine if there is a bug on my account?

I am also having the same issue as winder04 & followed the instructions to 'fix' but it didn't work. Could you also look into my account to see if I have a bug? Thank you so much!

I am also having the issue of MyFitness Pal not syncing with my Fitbit steps.
I have uninstalled it and reinstalled and it does not work.

I have also been having this issue for several weeks. When I try to select Fitbit in the steps section, I get the same winder04 where it says already installed, but on the previous page says a step track isn't selected.

I am afraid that I am experiencing the same problem. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to track my fitbit steps.
Thank you

I am experiencing the same issue, it will not sync my fitbit steps. I have disconnected from both and reconnected and tried turning the area on and off where it comes from but still nothing

I'm very disappointed right now. I'm considering making the switch from Lose It to My Fitness Pal and the inability for the fitbit connection to function properly is a deal breaker for me.

I've done all of the trouble shooting steps and when I go to steps I still see "add a device" and Don't Track Steps is selected, even though on the other page it says that fitbit is connected.

I see that this issue seems to have first been posted 3/10, and yet here it is 3/17 and the issue is STILL not fixed. If this is not fixed within the next couple of days I will abandon My Fitness Pal and stay with your competitor Lose It as I've never had those issues with them (their technical support on issues that do arise is top notch btw, this would not have take so long to be fixed).

I, too, am currently having this issue. Though, it wasn't an issue until two days ago. Just wanted to report in that the problem is still ongoing and will wait for a fix! I def miss seeing my extra cals added to MFP! I hope you're able to help soon with a fix! Thanks!

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Please see responses below:

ac1023 – We are only seeing the last successful relink made on 10/28/15. Your account is showing on MyFitnessPal as having an expired access token, meaning Fitbit has revoked access. However, it should be easy to fix if you follow the exact steps outlined next: First, log into your Fitbit account, click the gear icon and choose “settings”. Once inside the settings, click the Applications tab and locate MyFitnessPal. Once you find MyFitnessPal click “revoke” access. Once you revoke access on Fitbit you will need to go back to MyFitnessPal and relink. Additionally, once relinked please make sure you have Fitbit chosen as your primary step source within the MyFitnessPal app, which could be causing the adjustment not to come through. Would you please select Steps from the app menu and choose Fitbit as your primary step source.

kpeterson19 – I have reviewed your account and everything seems to be syncing as expected. I can see a daily Fitbit adjustment in your Exercise Diary, most recently today, as of 2:40pm, and a step count total of >9,000 steps. Are you not seeing this within your account?

blossomingbutterfly – I need to check a little further into your account, but I think we can get you up and running. Once our team is back in the office Monday we’ll be able to take a look. I will post back to this thread once we do.

Hope this helps! We wish you the best of luck in meeting and maintaining all your fitness goals!

Best,

Ripley
