Steps per day Gwenny09 — May 19, 2017 03:29AM PDT

I walk 12000 steps per day, how can I record this? I sometimes walk at lunchtimes otherwise it is at night but whatever happens I ensure that I have completed 12000 steps. I have only just started the 12000 as I have been doing 10000 for sometime now and my weight is not moving.

Hey thanks for posting your question. While you may add a measurement and track your steps in the Check-In tab of the website, or in Progress in the apps, there is not currently a way to convert your step count there into calories burned, unless you have integrated your MyFitnessPal account with one of our integration partners. Many of these partners can automatically log your burned calories based on your amount of walking or other exercise.

We account for some amount of walking based on the “activity” level in your profile. If you take an additional walk for exercise and would like to get credit for the additional calories, we recommend logging this as “walking” in your Exercise diary, and recording the number of minutes walked.

Or if your pedometer reports the calories burned, you can add a custom exercise to your database and call it “pedometer.”

Warm Regards,
Logan
