Copy meals and meal plans accross days? elleryj — Jul 17, 2017 10:28AM PDT

Is it not time that the Myfitnesspal of Calorie Counter have the ability to copy meals from one day to the next? It is a question that comes up every month or so. I am willing to bet it would be in the top 2 or 3 listed items; if there were a request list.

Hey thanks for posting your question. You can quickly copy the entire contents of a meal to the same meal on another date.

On the Web

On the Food Diary page, tap “Quick Tools” under any meal to see options for copying to or from recent or upcoming dates.

‚ÄčIn our iOS apps (version 5.3 and later)

Tap the “Edit” button on the diary page
Tap the check box next to each item you would like to copy. You can select just one item, or even items from different meals.
Tap the “Copy” button and select a date to copy the items.

In our Android App (version 3.1 and later)

Tap the Pencil button on the diary page
Tap the check box next to each item you would like to copy. You can select just one item, or even items from different meals.
Tap the “3 dot icon” at the top and select a date to copy the items.

‚ÄčIn our iOS apps (prior to version 5.3) and Android app (prior to version 3.1)

Select the Wrench icon adjacent the the meal’s label (Breakfast, Lunch, etc.) and choose “Copy Meal to Today” or “Copy Meal to Date.”

iOS and Android users can see this feature demonstrated in Help > Tutorial Videos > Meals and Recipes.

Myfitnesspal desperately needs to add the feature to copy to every day over several days. I take liquid fish oil each night with my dinner so although you offer to "copy a meal" there's now way to do a 1-button convenience of copying something like supplements you take daily. So if I copy the meal, then I have to delete everything but the fish oil. This is definitely something MFP needs to take a serious look at.

Thanks for posting. We’ll definitely consider adding repeating entries for future updates. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know what additions would improve your experience.

In the meantime, you can copy a single item without having to copy the entire meal, in the apps.

On Android: tap the edit pencil > select the item > tap 3 dot icon in upper right > copy to date > choose date.

On iOS: tap Edit > select item > tap Copy at the bottom > choose date.

Warm Regards,
Logan
