Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. If you make any edits to your profile settings or change your weight under the goals section, your goals will reset based off the new information.

If the above is not the case, would you mind trying the following to see if that helps?

First can you try uninstalling the app, then log in online at www.MyFitnessPal.com and change your goals, after you have changed your goals online, can you then reinstall the app. This should hopefully remove the possibility that the app is storing old data but insisting to the site that it’s new data.

Here’s what you need to do to safely uninstall the app:

First, you need to try to sync the app to make sure you data has been backed up. Open the app and login. Then at the bottom of the menu (or the “More” screen), tap the “Sync” option (circle of arrows). If the app reports it has not synced recently, tap the Data Sync item to force a sync. Make sure that your phone is connected to the internet when you are trying to sync. If you are not able to get the app to completely sync, then unfortunately, when you uninstall the app you will lose any changes that you have not recently synced. All previously synced items should reinstall back to the app.

To confirm your information has synced or to add any unsynced items, first go online to www.myfitnesspal.com. Log in using the exact same username and password that you use in the app. If you need to reset your password please visit https://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/forgot_password (your username should be included the body of that email, and please note it will Not be the same as your email address).

All information that is visible online should then resync back to the app when the exact same username and password are used, and there is a valid internet connection.

After you have confirmed your information is online, please then completely uninstall the app from your device. To do this on an Android, go to Settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications. Find the MyFitnessPal app and tap on it, then tap the Uninstall button.

If using an iPhone or iPad, go to the main applications screen, find the MyFitnessPal icon, press your finger down on it until the icon starts to jiggle and an “X” appears. Tap the “X” to delete the app.

After the app has been uninstalled, then log in again online at http://www.myfitnesspal.com and change your goals as desired by going to to the “Goals” tab, then “Change goals” then “customize goals”. Please make sure to update your changes at the bottom of the page.

Once your goals have been updated, then please go back to your device, reinstall the MyFitnessPal app from your App store, and then log in with the same username and password as online. The goals should then hopefully stay.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
