ADDING ITEMS TO "MY FOODS" DIRECTLY FROM A SEARCH OR THE FOOD DIARY AUGIEAZ — Jan 11, 2018 06:39PM PST
IS THERE A WAY ON THE WEB APPLICATION TO ADD ITEMS DIRECTLY FROM THE WEB DATABASE TO "MY FOODS"?
BASED ON MY REVIEW OF THE FAQ THE ANSWER APPEARS TO BE "NO".
THERE WAS A POST FROM MYFITNESSPAL REPRESENTATIVE IN THIS FORUM THAT SUGGESTED CREATING A MEAL CONTAINING ONLY ONE ITEM AND THEN MOVING THAT TO MY MEALS". THIS IS REALLY A SOLUTION FOR MY NEEDS.
MY VISION IS TO BE ABLE TO GO INTO THE MFP FOOD DATABASE, SELECT THOSE FOODS I EAT REPEATEDLY AND ADD THEM TO "MY FOODS" LIST; I.E. CREATING A SUBSET DB OF MY OWN FOR THE FOODS I EAT FREQUENTLY AND DON'T ALWAYS COMBINE INTO THE SAME MEAL.
I COULD COMPLETE MY FOOD DIARY ENTRIES MUCH MORE QUICKLY, AND WITH GREATER EASE, BY BEING ABLE TO SEARCH THE "MY FOODS" LIST I HAVE CREATED, SELECT ITEMS FROM THAT LIST AND THEN ADD THEM TO A MEAL IN MY FOOD DIARY DIRECTLY; I.E. ELIMINATING MY NEED TO SEARCH FOR THAT SAME FOOD OVER AND OVER AGAIN IN THE MFP MASTER FOOD DB.
IT IS ALSO VERY IMPORTANT TO BE ABLE TO ADD AN INDIVIDUAL FOOD AND NOT A MEAL; I.E. I MAY HAVE A DINNER WITH TWO OF THE SAME VEGETABLES I ATE THE DAY BEFORE, BUT COMBINE THEM WITH A DIFFERENT ENTREE AND A DIFFERENT BREAD.

Last sentence of paragraph two in my post should read, "....THIS IS NOT REALLY A SOLUTION FOR MY NEEDS."

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The “My Foods” list displays foods that you have added to the food database. It is not intended to be used as a favorites list for items, but we will definitely consider an option similar to that for a future update. At this time there is no other workarounds other than the Meal option you mentioned.
All the best,
