Apple Watch MFP App AmyCareyLowell — Jan 12, 2018 08:23AM PST

The MFP watch app is very flaky. Some days it pulls data (steps) for Apple Health just fine. Often it does not. I have the apple health app set up to push data into MFP, as well as pull data from MFP (protein, carbs, etc) Sometimes forcing a sync from the iphone app fixes the problem, sometimes it doesn't. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how can I fix it? I'm at a point where I may remove MFP from my watch as in it's current state it isn't very useful to me.....

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Could you try a fresh reinstall of the MyFitnessPal app and relink your Apple Watch and HealthKit to see if that will help?

Once reinstalled, in MyFitnessPal tap More>Steps>Apple Watch and you should be taken to a page to turn some Categories On. Turn them on and then tap More>Settings>Sharing & Privacy>HealthKit Sharing and you’ll be taken to another page to turn On more Categories. This should relink your Apple Watch and HealthKit.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

I have relinked the app. For now the nutrition details & steps are syncing. However the gym workout from today on the Apple Watch workout app is not syncing. I selected the functional training option - other workouts have moved over into mfp. The additional calories from steps are indicated in the diary.

Thanks for getting back to us. Currently there are some exercises in the Apple Watch that do not have a match in MyFitnessPal’s exercise database. Unfortunately Functional Training is one of these workouts. We are working on updating our database so that these exercises will have a match and will sync. For now, if you leave a workout as named Other, it will sync over.

Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Warm Regards,
Bruce

Thanks. Is it possible for you to provide a list of the standard exercises selections that are syncing properly?

We are working on making a post to better inform our users of what exercises will sync with the Apple Watch.
