Hello CAGuitarGirl,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. The ability to change your carb goal is available in both the standard MyFitnessPal program and in MyFitnessPal Premium. The differences being as follows:

Standard MyFitnessPal Program:

You can customize your carb goal by percentage. MyFitnessPal distributes fat, carb and protein calories based on a percentage, in five percent increments. If you customize your macronutrient goals, all three goals will adjust to total 100%.

MyFitnessPal Premium:

You can customize your goals by percentage, same as the standard program, and the additional option of setting in 1% increments. Or you can customize your macronutrient goals by gram. Premium users can set more precise goals, in gram increments, for protein, carbs, or fat, or in calorie increments of one percent. Premium users can also set custom goals based on the individual day of the week.

Please note that your goals will update once you add exercise in the cardiovascular section for a given day: your exercise calories will be added to your goal for the day, distributed according to your chosen nutrient ratio. (Premium users may opt out of exercise calories being added to their daily total, or may choose to have them distributed in a custom ratio of nutrients). You can read more about the MyFitnessPal Premium features here.

In either version, you may access and customize your goals from the website by clicking My Home > Goals > Edit. And from within the iOS app, More menu > Goals > Calorie and Macronutrient Goals.

Hope this helps! We wish you the best of luck in meeting and maintaining all your fitness goals!

Best,

Ripley
