Step Syncing from Samsung Health bretthansen1985 — Mar 08, 2018 08:34PM PST

The step counting import from Samsung Health has been down and listed as a "known issue" for nearly a year. Is there ever going to be a fix? I would love to keep using MyFitnessPal, but leaving this basic functionality broken for a year is disconcerting.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Are you still having issues with the Samsung integration? Currently I can see that the accounts are connected and that there is adjustment data for today. If you are still having issues, please do let us know.

Up until today, I had no problem with myfitnesspal receiving my steps from my Samsung health app. Today it stopped doing it. Can you help me.

Hi stuart7212

Our apologies for any problems you are having seeing your Steps within the app.

Would you mind trying a few options for us to see if any of them help? Could you fist please make sure you are on the latest version of the MyFitnessPal app. You should be able to check the App Store or Google Play to see if you are due for any updates.

If you are updated, next try going to the Menu or More section of the app and find Steps. Then select, “Don’t track Steps”. Go to a different section in the App, then return back to that area and try to select your Step source once more.

If you are using an iOS device, please also make sure to go into your device settings (not the app settings) then find MyFitnessPal under your listed apps, then make sure to enable “motion & fitness”.

Please also make sure you are not connected to more than one step tracking partner at a time. For example, if you are using iOS steps to track, you can not also track steps with Fitbit. You must choose the one you prefer and disconnect the other.

If that does not trigger the Steps again, you may want to try logging completely out of the App and then log back in. Then select your step source once more. To log out, go to the Menu (or “More” page) then Settings, then Log Out. Please make sure you know your username and password before logging out.

If you need to reset your password please visit (your username should be included the body of that email).

Please also remember your Steps are an incentive area and do not guarantee a calorie adjustment. You can view your adjustment by tapping directly on it. To help understand the adjustment, please see the article here.

All the best,

The same thing has happened to me & unfortunately non of your suggestions fix the problem Bruce. The only thing I can think of that is changed is that I changed my password via the MFP website as instructed following the recent data breach.

The MFP app starting counting my steps again this evening without me doing anything! Let's hope it stays that way.
