Unable to choose Samsung Health / Samsung device as Steps counter jaykulina — May 12, 2018 07:08AM PDT

Hi,

I have an iPhone 5S running iOS 11.3. Until recently, I had been using the UA Band to track steps/sleep, but I just switched to the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro, partly because I heard it was able to use MFP tracking. However, even though I linked the device in every way I could find, steps and exercise are not being tracked in the MFP app. The device says I have 4000+ steps, but the MFP app on the device says "0 Fit 2 Steps". The Fit 2 syncs well enough with Samsung Health, but MFP and Samsung Health will not talk to each other. Everything I've read says I need to add Samsung Health/S Health under Apps & Devices on MFP phone app, but it's not even an option! It still wants to connect to UA Record, which even though it's ALSO on my device, has become useless and doesn't track my steps either.

If I try to disconnect Samsung Health from the UA Record app, it sends me to the Multiple Devices Connected screen, expecting me to select Sleep and Steps tracking devices, but there are none listed for me to select. The only thing I can do is hit the Back button, when I do that, Samsung Health is back in the list as if I'd never disconnected it.

I tried deleting the UA record app and reinstalling it, but even THAT didn't disconnect Samsung Health. And neither MFP or Samsung Health have any options besides disconnecting, in the UA Record app.

Basically what I'm saying is that it doesn't work.
