Steps as exercise kjcotter5 — Jun 12, 2018 02:45PM PDT

I see that my steps are "noticed" by myfitnesspal (usually at the end of the day), but I do not see any credit for calories burned under exercise. Should I enter my steps taken separately in "exercise?" Thanks

Hey thanks for posting your question. Sorry for any confusion with the adjustment. Looking at your account status, we see that you have selected your iOS device as your source for step tracking. We take the steps from your iOS device and then calculate the calorie burn for them and then add your resting calorie burn. That total is then compared with what we originally calculated that you would burn in a day, based on your profile info, in order to come up with your calorie goal. If your iOS calorie burn is higher than the MyFitnessPal calorie burn, then you will receive the difference as extra calories in the form of an adjustment. If not then the adjustment line will show a zero until it does, because we’ve already given you credit for a certain amount of activity.

Warm Regards,
MyFitnessPal Staff
