Failed attempts to sync MyFitnessPal (premium) and Garmin Connect smarkberry — Jul 04, 2018 05:37AM PDT

I've tried - numerous times & different ways - to sync MyFitnessPal and Garmin Connect. When I attempt to do so using a web browser and Garmin Connect, it shows that they are connected and in the process of syncing (but syncing never ends). When I attempt to link the accounts using my Samsung Galaxy S7, I - repeatedly - receive notice that "Linking accounts failed" with my only options being to "cancel" or "try again" (which doesn't work). I paid for MyFitnessPal Premium to enjoy the full benefits of the app (including integration with Garmin Connect). It doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Hi smarkberry,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. In reviewing your account, we can see that Garmin was last linked to your account in 2014, and can also see that no Garmin exercise adjustment has posted in your exercise diary in years, although you do currently have them elected as your Primary Step Source. Due to the date of the last link being in 2014, there’s a good chance that the security token expired and you need a fresh relink in order to authorize and prompt the sync. Would you unlink Garmin from MyFitnessPal, and then head back over to the Garmin app to re-initiate the link?

Let us know if you’re still having trouble after relinking and we’ll see what else we can do to get you up and running!

Best,

Ripley
