Bariatric Surgery Setttings lmmeade — Sep 28, 2018 06:08AM PDT

Is MFP planning on adding an option for bariatric surgery patients. We are not expected to eat the "norm" for men or women, and when we log the data, it won't post the results because we're under calories for the day.

This subject was brought up TWO years ago with no resolution for the MANY users that are bariatric leaving us no choice but to look for a different option. I had even paid one year of the MVP hoping that would meet my needs; which of course it did not.

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. At this time there is not a way to remove the warning message. To help prevent unsafe eating habits for members, this message will trigger if the day is completed under the NIH recommendations (1000 calorie minimum for women, 1200 minimum for men). We do realize that some members are under doctors’ orders to fall below this amount, and we are still looking into better ways to provide the message as prevention for our members, while finding alternative options for those who are following lower guides from their doctor.

Until we can find a better way to do this, for now, the only way to avoid seeing the message would be to Not complete your entry for the day, as that option is not mandatory. Your diary, and log in days, will still be intact even if this button is not pressed. This feature is there only to provide a projection for the next 5 weeks, as well as to update the news feed, which will also no longer update if you are below the NIH recommendations.

While we truly regret this message and changes may negatively impact your experience while using MyFitnessPal, we do hope you’ll understand our first priority is to make MyFitnessPal less appealing to persons who are causing themselves harm. Please know we’re reviewing your feedback and looking at ways to improve your experience at MyFitnessPal, while prioritizing the safety of our most vulnerable users.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to review the changes. We do hope you can still find benefit in using MyFitnessPal and we wish you nothing but success.

Warm Regards,

Goodbye Fitness Pal
I want a refund for the upgrade I paid for. I can't use this to my benefit as I am a bariatric patient.
