Apple Watch Strength Training Activity Not Syncing to My Fitness Pal jfeitlingeraz — Jan 08, 2019 06:21PM PST

When I log into My Fitness Pal I see my jogging and walking that I added as a workout activity on my Apple Watch series 2. However, today I selected Strength Training as the workout on my watch and then after that work out was done I started an indoor walk workout session on my Apple Watch. When I logged in to review my day on My Fitness Pal I do see the Walk logged but not the Strength Training session. How do I fix this?

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Currently some exercises performed in the Apple Watch will not sync to MyFitnessPal since we do not have a matching exercise in our database. We are working on updating our database so that these exercises can sync in the future.

You can check our article located here for more information on what exercises will sync.

That being said, Strength Training should sync over. Could you try a fresh reinstall of the MyFitnessPal app and relink your Apple Watch and HealthKit to see if that will help?

Once reinstalled, in MyFitnessPal tap More>Steps>Apple Watch and you should be taken to a page to turn some Categories On. Turn them on and then tap More>Settings>Sharing & Privacy>HealthKit Sharing and you’ll be taken to another page to turn On more Categories. This should relink your Apple Watch and HealthKit.

Bruce, if I remove the App from my phone please confirm that won't delete all my history of my meals, etc.? If so, I will try that today and see if it works.

You can log in at https://www.myfitnesspal.com/ to confirm that your data has synced over. Data visible on the site will sync back to the app after reinstalling.

When uninstalling the MyFitnessPal app, when HealthKit is connected, it will ask if you want to Keep or Delete your HealthKit data. Be sure to tap Keep.
