MyFitnessPall overrides Garmin data scvanvliet — Jan 10, 2019 01:20PM PST
MyFitnessPal does not have running as a category for all paces. For example there is running at 11:30 min per mile pace and 10:00 min per mile, nothing in between. Yesterday, I ran 5.5 miles at a 10:40 per mile pace. My Garmin synced the workout with MFP, but MFP changed the pace to 11:30 pace and showed I ran less miles. Why doesn't it just read the activity directly from the Garmin? In additional to time and distance, it tracks my heart rate for a more accurate assessment of my calorie burn than a generalized, override to a "11:30 mile pace".

Our apologies for any confusion or differences in how an item is represented within one of our partner apps verses our program. Since our partners use a different database for exercise and food items than we do, when these items transfer between programs, they may not always be exact.
When a single exercise transfers from a partner to MyFitnessPal it will find the closest match in our system and list that exercise as being performed. Though the name of the exercise may be different, the duration and calories burned should be the same on both programs. If not, please do let us know.
Also please note that if you are using an all day activity tracker, only a total of calories burned will transfer from the partner to MyFitnesspal, not individual exercise. You will then see any difference in activity via the adjustment line total. You can click on the “i” next to the adjustment online or tap on the adjustment in an app to understand this adjustment.
If you are using a partner that will transfer your food from MyFitnessPal to your partner, please note this will only show as a total of calories consumed on the partner side, individual items will not be listed.
Also note only future information will transfer between programs after the connection has been made, past information will not sync.
