Problem with calories in an exercise wheeliebinuk — Feb 09, 2019 03:02PM PST

So i ma wheelchair user and noticed theres an actual option for pushing a wheelchair which i obviously do all day evry day but... im the most active between 6am and 6pm which is 12 hours for work and thats working with horses. so im going through mud sand grass etc so its very very active wheelchair use. but when i put in for lets say 500 minutes which iswell below my 12 hour work day it shows 8333 calories burnt... that is not right at all if that was the case i would not be having a problem with weight loss lol So anychance this could get fixed to accurately show calorie loss?

Thanks for posting and sorry for any trouble. We will certainly pass on your feedback to our team and ask them to take a look at the exercise. There are always some exercises that vary for each individual, making the calories burned difficult to calculate accurately. As you mentioned, in addition to that, there are different variables, such as mud or grass vs a sidewalk, or degree of incline, that change the degree of difficulty for the activity.

If you know how many calories you are burning with a device like a heart rate monitor or activity tracker, you can override the calories burned field by tapping directly on it and then put in your information. You can also add a new exercise yourself, just go to “cardiovascular” and then “create new exercise.” Your estimate will be added to your personal database, and not the main database.

If you are interested in an activity tracker, you may want to look into our third party integrations. Several of our integrations offer solutions for monitoring your calorie burn over the course of the day and can update your MyFitnessPal calorie goals based on this data.
