How do I make a food public for others to see nicolabooth_2 — Aug 11, 2019 01:06PM PDT

I've been making food for people and want them to be able to add it on MyFitnessPal, I tried creating it as a food item, as a recipe and as a meal but none show in the public database? is there a way to change this?

Hi there,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. To add a food item to the public database, you will need to add it via the website at https://www.myfitnesspal.com/. Log in and click Food>My Foods>Create Food. Follow the steps on screen and right before you save the item, be sure to check off the box labeled Yes, let other MyFitnessPal members use this food.

If the new item has a barcode, you can scan the barcode in the app that is not associated with a food in our database, you will have the option to create a new food item linked to that barcode for all users of MyFitnessPal

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions or feedback.

Regards,

Hi louisemezza

Can you give me an example of a food item you have added that is not showing up in a search for other users?

Much appreciated,
Bruce
