Why not match exact calories burned from Apple Watch & Healthkit (Active + Resting) to myfitnesspal? AndrewInnes — Nov 25, 2015 04:27AM PST
I notice that you only sync workouts and steps from the Apple Watch through Healthkit, then you estimate total calories for the day to make any adjustments using your own calculations.
I, and it seems many others, believe it would be much better if you were to use the total calories burned (active and resting) from the Apple watch to make any daily adjustments to calories remaining. Otherwise, you are not harnessing any of the real capabilities of the Apple Watch as a daily calorie tracker. It just seems plain wrong that my total calories from my Apple Watch and HealthKit don't match what myfitnesspal is telling me I can eat to maintain weight.
You could still display the workouts and steps recorded from the Watch, but I would guess the calc for estimated full day's calories at any given point in the day would go something like...
Healthkit Resting Calories + Healthkit Workout Calories + (Healthkit Active Calories so far - Healthkit Workout Calories)*(24 / hours in day so far)
