When is MyFitnessPal going to include features specifically targeted to the needs of diabetic users? davidkuntschik — Sep 10, 2019 07:55AM PDT
Maximiliano, MyFitnessPal Agent, Dec 01, 2015 11:10 AM PST, stated "Future versions of MyFitnessPal may include features specifically targeted to the needs of diabetic users. (https://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/questions/15933491-diabetes)
I has been 3 years, 9 months, 8 days, 22 hours, 42 minutes, 6 seconds, and no diabetic versions have been created. "An estimated 30.3 million people of all ages—or 9.4% of the U.S. population—had diabetes in 2015 (Methods)" (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2019, pg. 2) Of these, 7.2 million have undiagnosed diabetes. (CDC, Table 1, pg.2) "In 2015, an estimated 1.5 million new cases of diabetes (6.7 per 1,000 persons) were diagnosed among U.S. adults aged 18 years or older (Table 2) (Methods).More than half of these new cases were among
adults aged 45 to 64 years, and the numbers were about equal for men and women (Table 2)." (CDC), 2019, pg. 5) "Diabetes was the seventh leading cause of death in the United
States in 2015. This finding is based on 79,535 death certificates
in which diabetes was listed as the underlying cause of death
(crude rate, 24.7 per 100,000 persons).5"
My argument for implementing diabetes management to MyFitnessPal is there are 30.2 Americans that you can sell the app to with an additional 1.5 million every year. If you marketed this app to endocrinologists and got their input suggestions, you could create a multiple award-winning app.

Thanks for getting back in touch with us. Please accept our apologies if your suggestion has not yet been added to the program. We highly appreciate member feedback and we do our best to add as many recommendations as we can. We follow certain guidelines when improving our program, such as the number of requests we receive, along with the ability to be able to add the feature.
Though many features may seem like an easy addition, there are many behind the scenes complications for even the simplest of request, especially since our program is so complex and runs on several platforms. The feedback we receive is noted and shared with our developing team, and we will continue to do all we can to try to add the most requested features when possible.
In the meantime, thank you so much for using the program and for sharing how we can improve upon it. We wish you nothing but success!
All the best,
